Military clashes on Thailand-Cambodia border leave 9 dead

New clashes have erupted between armed forces of Thailand and Cambodia along their disputed border. The Thai army says the fighting has left nine dead on the Thai side and more than 10 injured, including civilians.

The clashes reportedly started on Thursday morning. The Thai army said that it deployed F-16 fighter jets that attacked Cambodian forces.

Fighting appears to be continuing in locations along the border.

The two countries' armed forces exchanged fire in the area in May, leaving one Cambodian soldier dead.
