Mon State Government Provides Food Aid to Flood-Hit Households in Bilin Township
Bilin, 25 July
Continuous heavy rainfall since
24 July has caused the Bilin River in Mon State to overflow, resulting in
flooding across three urban wards and five villages in Bilin Township.
In response, the Mon State
Government has donated 100 bags of rice, while well-wishers contributed dry
noodles, eggs, and clean drinking water. The supplies were distributed this
afternoon to flood-affected residents by U Sithu Aung, Chairman of the Township
Disaster Management Committee, along with officials.
As of this morning, eight
temporary relief camps have been established in Bilin Township. A total of
2,129 people from 567 households—including 934 males and 1,195 females—have
been relocated to safer areas.— Township IPRD
