Essential Foodstuffs Sold at Fair Prices in Myaung Mya
Myaung Mya, 25 July
Basic food items have
been sold at reduced prices in Myaung Mya Township, Ayeyarwady Region, since 2
June this year. Today, the sales took place at 7:00 a.m. at the corner of Aung San
Road and Road-7.
The Myaung Mya District
Commodity Price Stabilization Committee has organized five sales teams to offer
essential food items—including rice, cooking oil, eggs, and duck eggs—at more
affordable prices. This morning, rice was sold at K2,000 per basket, palm oil
at K6,800 per viss, chicken eggs at K350 each, and duck eggs at K430 each.
The sales teams,
composed of staff from the Myaung Mya District and Township Planning
Department, Rural Development Department, Land Records Department, Cooperative
Department, and Revenue Department, distributed the goods at rates lower than
prevailing market prices. On 25 July, the teams sold 40 bags of rice, 110 viss
of palm oil, 1,500 eggs, and 300 duck eggs.— Zeyar (Myaung Mya)
