Myawaddy, 25 July

In Myawaddy, Myawaddy District, Kayin State, a total of 4,736 flood victims have been evacuated to eight temporary relief camps after continuous heavy rainfall caused the Thaung Yin River to rise above the danger level, inundating low-lying areas and nearby wards.

To support the evacuation process, five search and rescue teams and 11 relief camps have been organized under the supervision of U Kaung San Lin, District Administrator and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Committee. The teams are providing essential assistance to those affected.

As of 24 July, 4,736 residents—comprising 2,378 males and 2,358 females from 1,179 households—have received emergency supplies. Relief items include rice, cooking oil, canned fish, onions, soap, salt, monosodium glutamate (MSG), and other basic foodstuffs.— Saung Hnin Phyu (IPRD)
