Strong Winds Wreak Havoc on 37 Homes in Thaton Township

Strong winds
struck Naung Kala Ale Village in Thaton Township, Mon State, at around 6:50 am
on 24 July, damaging 37 houses and injuring one resident.
The sudden
gusts, accompanied by falling tree branches, blew off the roofs of several
houses in the southern part of the village and caused small huts to collapse.
Led by U Zaw
Moe Soe, Chairman of the Township Disaster Management Committee and Township
Administrator, a coordinated response involving firefighters, police, social
organizations, and local residents was carried out to clear debris, assess the
damage, and provide immediate relief.
The incident
caused property damage estimated at Ks 205,800. A 45-year-old woman was injured
when one of the houses collapsed and was transported to Thaton District General
