Waso robe offering ceremony for 2025 held at Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army)

Families of the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held the Waso robe offering cere­mony for 2025 at Anawrahta Hall of the Office of the Com­mander-in-Chief (Army) yes­terday morning, attended by Chairman of the State Admin­istration Council, Command­er-in-Chief of Defence Servic­es Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

 

Also, present at the cere­mony were 27 members of the Sangha including Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Uppatasan­ti Pagoda Board of Trustees led by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Commit­tee Presiding Patron of Mink­yaung Pahtamabyan Buddhism Learning Centre in Thanlyin of Yangon Region Aggamaha Pandita Aggahama Saddham­majotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, and Secre­tary Sayadaw Presiding Patron of New Masoeyein Monastery of Mandalay, Dhamma Theikdi Monastery Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddham­majotikadhaja Maha Dham­makathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta Vasettha Bhivamsa.

 

The Senior General paid homage to the Buddha image in the Anawrahta Hall and offered alms, fruits, flowers, water and oil lights. The SSMNC Chair­man Sayadaw administered the Nine Precepts while members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta.

 

The Senior General and his wife donated Waso robes and of­fertories to Chairman Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.

 

SAC Vice-Chairman Dep­uty Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Command­er-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Sen­ior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe also offered Waso robes and offer­ings to Secretary of SSMNC New Masoeyein Monastery Sayadaw. Attendees and their wives presented Waso robes and donations to members of the Sangha.

 

Secretary New Masoeyein Monastery Sayadaw deliv­ered a sermon, and the congregation shared merits gained.

 

After the ceremony, the Senior General and his wife, the Vice-Senior General and his wife, and senior Tatmadaw officers offered lunch meals to members of the Sangha led by Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.

 

Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and his wife, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives and officials also attended the ceremony. — MNA/TTA
