Waso robe offering ceremony for 2025 held at Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army)
Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief
(Army, Navy and Air) held the Waso robe offering ceremony for 2025 at
Anawrahta Hall of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) yesterday
morning, attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief
of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu
Hla.
Also, present at the ceremony were 27
members of the Sangha including Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Uppatasanti Pagoda
Board of Trustees led by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee
Presiding Patron of Minkyaung Pahtamabyan Buddhism Learning Centre in Thanlyin
of Yangon Region Aggamaha Pandita Aggahama Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta
Candima Bhivamsa, and Secretary Sayadaw Presiding Patron of New Masoeyein
Monastery of Mandalay, Dhamma Theikdi Monastery Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita
Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta
Vasettha Bhivamsa.
The Senior General paid homage to the
Buddha image in the Anawrahta Hall and offered alms, fruits, flowers, water and
oil lights. The SSMNC Chairman Sayadaw administered the Nine Precepts while
members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta.
The Senior General and his wife donated
Waso robes and offertories to Chairman Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior
General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe also offered Waso robes and
offerings to Secretary of SSMNC New Masoeyein Monastery Sayadaw. Attendees and
their wives presented Waso robes and donations to members of the Sangha.

Sayadaw delivered a sermon, and the congregation shared merits gained.
After the ceremony, the Senior General
and his wife, the Vice-Senior General and his wife, and senior Tatmadaw
officers offered lunch meals to members of the Sangha led by Thanlyin Minkyaung
Sayadaw.
Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy
and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and
his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and his wife, Union-level dignitaries
and their wives, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the
Commander-in-Chief and their wives and officials also attended the ceremony. —
