Farmers in Sinbaungwe Township Receive Monsoon Crop Loans

The Myanma Agricultural Development Bank (MADB) in Sinbaungwe Township, Magway Region, has begun distributing monsoon crop loans for the 2025. At 2:00 PM today, 58 farmers from Dagon Hmaw Village Tract received Ks 433.5 million in loans for 87 acres of paddy and 303 acres of other crops.

According to Township Bank Manager U San Thaw, loans are being offered at Ks 150,000 per acre for paddy and Ks 100,000 per acre for sesame, with a 5% interest rate. Only farmers with official Land Use Certificates (Form-7) are eligible for the loans. Loan recipients will also receive crop insurance, and the bank is explaining the loan terms to farmers.

So far, Ks 570.8 million has been disbursed to 891 farmers across 14 village tracts for 5,340 acres of farmland. The loan program, totaling Ks 300 million, will continue in the remaining areas.— Khin Win (Sinbaungwe)
