Vehicle Catches Fire after Hitting Lamp Post in Mingaladon Township

A white Nissan Vameite (license plate YGN 44-4L-9387) caught fire after colliding with a lamp post near the 106th bus stop on Khayaybin Road in the Market Ward of Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region, according to a report received via telephone at 3:44 p.m. on August 17.
In response to the report, the Mingaladon Township Fire Department, led by Staff Officer U Myint Khaing, dispatched two fire engines, one water tanker, and 14 firefighters to the scene. The fire was successfully extinguished by 3:54 p.m.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. when the vehicle struck a lamp post, causing the fuel tank to rupture and leak fuel, which ignited. The fire damaged the vehicle’s cabin, dashboard, side mirrors, seat cushions, and roof lining. The estimated value of the damage is Ks 7 million.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Legal action has been initiated against the driver at the relevant township police station.— Min Thein Htun
