Fish stocking ceremony held in Pwintbyu Township

With the aims of ensuring fish
consumption and enriching fish resources, a total of 200,000 fingerlings of
different kinds of fish species were released into Mone Creek near Thettawshae
Ward in the town of Pwintbyu, Magway Region.
At the ceremony, Chairman and
members of Pwintbyu Township Management and Administration Committee, officials
from Pwintbyu Township Department of Fisheries and Township hatchery camp, ward
administrators and invited guests were in attendance. Then, they released
100,000 fingerlings of rohu species and 100,000 fingerlings of crap species
into the Mone Creek.
Under the guidance of Regional
Department of Fisheries, the Township Department of Fisheries annually stocks
fingerlings into rivers, creeks, dams and paddy fields across the township and
organizes basic fish farming courses. In addition, fingerlings of different kinds
of fish species are being sold at a fair price, according to an official from
the Township Department.
