Lwan Zedi to rise at former Sky Villa Condominium site
LWAN Zedi (pagoda) will be built at the site of the Sky Villa condominium, which collapsed due to the Mandalay earthquake, in memory of the deceased, and Paritta chanting and Dhamma sermons will be held, said U Lin Lin Tun, Sky Villa Condo Operation Manager.
On 15 September, he delivered that during the second event of NTL Construction Company, compensations were delivered to the bereaved families of 76 individuals who died in the collapsed Sky Villa. They offered K10 million compensation for the families of each victim killed in the collapsed Sky Villa condominium and apologies to those who lost their lives.
“We contributed compensation to the families or entities represented by 76 people who passed away during the collapse, including residents, staff and foreigners. Compensation will reach the remaining victims,” he added.
Clearing debris of the collapsed Sky Villa condominium has been completed, discovering 206 bodies and one unclaimed body as of 16 September.
The company handed over K10 million each to those related to 72 victims in the Sky villa collapse during the first batch of the event held on 8 September at the temporary shelter in front of the moat. — ASH/KK
