Outstanding Students Honored in Thongwa Township

A ceremony to honor outstanding students who excelled in the 2024–2025 Academic Year Matriculation Examination was held at No. 1 Basic Education High School in Thongwa Township, Thanlyin District, Yangon Region, at 10:00 am today.

 

The event began with a performance of the song “Pyinya Zee Chun” by students from the host school. Following the opening performance, Acting Township Administrator U Tun Saw Wai delivered the welcome address.

 

Next, Township Education Officer Daw San San Htay explained the purpose and significance of the ceremony, highlighting the importance of recognizing academic excellence among local students.

 

Certificates of honor and cash awards were then presented to a total of 40 outstanding students, including 24 students who earned one distinction and 16 students who achieved two distinctions

 

The ceremony concluded with a performance of traditional Myanmar school songs, after which officials posed for a commemorative group photo with the honored students.
