T&C Deputy Minister attends 2nd International Technology Congress




A Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Aung Myaing, departed Yangon for Moscow, Russia, on 14 Septem­ber to attend the 2nd Interna­tional Technology Congress (ITC). The delegation returned to Yangon on the evening of 20 September.


The ITC was held over three days at the Patriot Expo in Moscow, Russia. The event featured plenary sessions, the­matic technical forums, and demonstration sessions show­casing new technologies. Major Russian technology companies also set up booths during the event.


The International Plenary Session of the 2nd ITC was held at 12:00 noon on 16 September under the theme “Shanghai Co­operation Organization’s Digital Compass”. During the session, the deputy minister delivered the opening speech on the topic “Partner Dialogue: Course To­wards Trusted Technologies”.


The 2nd ITC’s International Cooperation for the Develop­ment of Next-Generation In­dustrial Automation Systems Forum was held at 12:00 noon on 17 September. The deputy min­ister delivered a speech titled “Supporting the Development of Automation Systems That Oper­ate Without Human Supervision in Industrial Sectors”.


The deputy minister de­livered a speech at the Second International Plenary Session of the 2nd ITC, held on 18 Sep­tember under the theme “The Role of New Technologies in Improving Workers’ Produc­tivity”.



During the meetings, the deputy minister discussed several key issues, including ensuring the inclusive use of trusted technologies by all SCO and partner countries, includ­ing Myanmar; cooperation in improving cybersecurity; and overcoming challenges in de­veloping industrial automation in an inclusive manner. He also addressed the status of Myan­mar’s ongoing collaboration with the international commu­nity, including the SCO, for the development of digital technolo­gy and the digital economy.


The Myanmar delegation, attending the 2nd ITC, also par­ticipated in the Russia-ASEAN Technology Cooperation Fo­rum held on 17 September and discussed, on behalf of ASEAN countries, the possibilities for further cooperation between ASEAN and Russia in the fields of digital economy, cybersecu­rity, satellite communications, e-commerce, and IT equipment and software manufacturing.


The delegation, led by the deputy minister, toured the ex­hibits at the 2nd ITC, organized by the Russian Ministry of In­dustry and Trade, and discussed the presentations given by rele­vant officials.


This year’s International Technology Congress was at­tended by more than 400 del­egates from over 20 countries, including SCO and ASEAN member states. — MNA/TH
