Over 1,200 acres of winter sunflower to be planted in Kyunhla Township

According to Kantbalu Township Department of Agriculture, a total of 1,200 acres of sunflower will be planted this winter season in Kyunhla Township, Kantbalu District, Sagain Region.
“In the township, sunflower is planted in monsoon and winter seasons. Of which, winter season is the one which mostly cultivates sunflowers. In addition, efforts are being made to expand sunflower cultivation in cooperation with local farmers”, according to an official from the township department.
The officials from the township department are conducting awareness campaigns on selecting high-quality seeds and effective cultivation methods, utilizing and producing organic fertilizer and pesticides. During 2025-2026 FY, a total of 1236 acres of sunflower will be planted this winter season.
