Training for polling station heads and members commences
AS Kayah State emphasizes holding the
multiparty democratic general election successfully, a ceremony to launch the
training course for heads, deputy heads and members of polling stations to
serve the upcoming election was held at the state hall in Loikaw yesterday
morning.
On the occasion, Kayah State Chief
Minister U Zaw Myo Tin said that preparations are being made to hold the
election in Kayah State successfully. He urged trainees to carefully study
lectures and assignments to be conducted at the training so as to
systematically carry out the practical work without any mistakes.
He stressed the need for service
personnel who will serve as officers, deputy officers and members of the polling
stations to diligently carry out their duties and responsibilities, like
exemplary public servants, to ensure the successful accomplishment of the
multiparty democratic general election.
The Chief Minister presented cash
assistance for the polling station officers, deputy officers and members
through the Kayah State Election Officer. Later, the state election officer
explained the purpose of conducting the training course.
The ceremony was also attended by the
commander of the Regional Control Command, state ministers, district- and
township-level authorities, staff of the state election subcommission office
and officials.
Arrangements have been made to conduct
training courses six times for 1,195 trainees from 18 to 23 November in
