International election observers leave Nay Pyi Taw Airport
THE international election observers who monitored the multiparty democratic general election (Phase I) held on 28 December 2025, departed from Nay Pyi Taw Airport for Yangon.
They were seen off at the airport by U Myo Hlaing, Member of the Union Election Commission, U Myint Soe, Member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, chairpersons and members of the Union Territory and District Election Subcommissions, officials, and officials of the Union Election Commission Office.
Election observers included Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and Ms Chen Xuanbo of International Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr Yerman Mukhtar, Deputy Chairman of the Election Commission of Kazakhstan, a delegation led by Mr Yich Samethy, Member of the National Election Committee of Cambodia, a delegation led by Mr Nguyen Duc Thinh, Head of International Relations of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the delegation led by Mr Mario Jose Armengol Campos from Nicaragua, and the delegation led by retired General Mr Sahni Arun Kumar from India departed at 12:30 pm, while the delegation led by Mr Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and the delegation led by Mr Igor Borisov, Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, departed from Nay Pyi Taw by air at 6:20 pm. — MNA/YHT(NLM)
