International election observers leave Nay Pyi Taw Airport




THE international election observers who monitored the multiparty democratic gener­al election (Phase I) held on 28 December 2025, departed from Nay Pyi Taw Airport for Yangon.


They were seen off at the airport by U Myo Hlaing, Mem­ber of the Union Election Com­mission, U Myint Soe, Member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, chairpersons and members of the Union Territory and District Election Subcommis­sions, officials, and officials of the Union Election Commis­sion Office.


Election observers in­cluded Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and Ms Chen Xuanbo of Inter­national Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr Yerman Mukhtar, Depu­ty Chairman of the Election Commission of Kazakhstan, a delegation led by Mr Yich Samethy, Member of the Na­tional Election Committee of Cambodia, a delegation led by Mr Nguyen Duc Thinh, Head of International Relations of the Socialist Republic of Viet­nam, the delegation led by Mr Mario Jose Armengol Campos from Nicaragua, and the dele­gation led by retired General Mr Sahni Arun Kumar from In­dia departed at 12:30 pm, while the delegation led by Mr Shol­ban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chair­man of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and the delegation led by Mr Igor Bo­risov, Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, departed from Nay Pyi Taw by air at 6:20 pm. — MNA/YHT(NLM)
