MoST Deputy Minister and delegation explore AI applications, agriculture, and cultural heritage in Guangxi, China
THE second day of the Artificial Intelligence
Technology Exchange took place on 2 December at a college in Pingshan, Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister
for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya, attended the event.
In the morning, Professor Lin Xuhan, an
advisor to the Guangxi CPC Committee, delivered a keynote address on “Promoting
Smart Agriculture and Rural Revitalization through AI in Farming”. Discussions
focused on China’s centralized use of domestic expertise for AI development,
the safe and equitable deployment of AI technologies, and the region’s active
role in AI Plus programmes for economic and social development. The Myanmar
delegation engaged in open exchanges, and the deputy minister presented
commemorative gifts.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited
the CRRC factory, a leading manufacturer of wind turbines and electricity
generation equipment. Mr Wang Tao, the Factory Director, provided detailed
explanations of production processes and advanced control systems. The Deputy
Minister asked questions and discussed technical details.
The delegation then visited a Shenzhen
community focused on poverty alleviation, where local officials briefed them
on measures relating to housing, the rule of law, employment, and access to
education and healthcare. The Deputy Minister engaged with the officials and
presented commemorative gifts.
Later, the delegation toured a tomato
plantation in Xing Cheng Village, Tianyang District, where Mr Huang Feiyi and
his team explained cultivation methods, research on popular tomato varieties,
and local market performance, noting that 2024 sales reached CNY 80 million.
The Myanmar delegation asked questions and exchanged knowledge on agricultural
technology.
In the evening, the delegation visited
historical and cultural sites of the Zhuang ethnic group in Tianzhou City,
