Fire Breaks Out in Building Storing Old Equipment in Patheingyi Township
Patheingyi, April 24
A fire broke out at 1:25 am today in a 40-by-20-foot, single-storey building with a corrugated iron roof owned by U Tun Ko in Aung Mingalar Ward, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region.
The fire reportedly started when the main plug of a CNJ-type wood trimmer overheated, igniting a nearby wall. The blaze destroyed the building, one CNJ-type wood trimmer, and three foreign-breed dogs, with total losses estimated at K4.4 million.
Firefighters responded with two fire engines and a support vehicle, along with 18 firefighters and 30 auxiliary personnel. The fire was brought under control at 1:43 am and fully extinguished at 1:50 am. No injuries were reported.
