Myanmar facilitates safe return of citizens facing hardship abroad
30 APRIL 2026
THE Government of Myanmar,
placing a high value on its citizens, is committed to ensuring that Myanmar
embassies and consulates, in coordination with relevant ministries and
host-country authorities, take necessary action to enable Myanmar nationals
abroad to return home safely and promptly, regardless of the difficulties they
may face.
The Myanmar Consulate-General in
Cairo worked in coordination with the relevant authorities in Iraq and
employment agencies to secure exit permits for Myanmar nationals Ma Khin San
Htay, Ma Thin Thin Aye, and Ma Phyo Ei Mar, who had been facing difficulties
while working in Iraq.
They departed for Yangon via a
Baghdad-Sharjah flight on 27 April, a Sharjah-Bangkok flight on 28 April, and a
Bangkok-Yangon flight on 29 April, arriving in Yangon at 3:10 am.
The Myanmar Consulate-General
continues to assist Myanmar nationals abroad who are experiencing difficulties,
helping facilitate their safe return home. The government, through the efforts
of Myanmar embassies and consulates, continues to support the repatriation of
Myanmar nationals who encounter hardship while working overseas.
The families of the workers have
expressed their deep gratitude to the Myanmar Government, the Myanmar
Consulate-General, and the Myanmar Embassy for their assistance in rescuing
their loved ones during times of distress. — Thiha/MKKS
