MoH Union Minister urges MRCS to expand public health promotion and strengthen emergency preparedness

THE Myanmar Red Cross Society, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, needs to expand public health promotion activities and strengthen preparedness for emergencies, said Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win at the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2026 commemoration ceremony held yesterday morning at the Myanmar Red Cross Society headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw.

The president of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, the resident representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the resident representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross delivered congratulatory remarks at the ceremony.

Afterwards, the Union minister, deputy minister, and officials presented awards and medals of honour to the 2025 Outstanding Red Cross Award winners from the Union Territory of Nay Pyi Taw, as well as to Red Cross members aged 65 and above, and to those who received the State Social Excellence Medal for the 2025-2026 financial year. — MNA/TH
