Mongyai Township conducts free carpentry vocational training opens under 100-day plan
WITH the aim of creating job opportunities for rural residents, the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development organized the opening ceremony of a free vocational carpentry training course in Mongyai Township, Tangyan District of northern Shan State on 9 May. The training is part of a 100-day implementation plan for the 2026-2027 financial year.
The opening ceremony, held in Nakho Village of the township, was attended by Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Sai Aung Nyunt and State Hluttaw representative U Sai Kham Kaw, both of whom delivered opening remarks.
During the event, the Township Head of the Mongyai Rural Development Department explained that the vocational subjects were selected based on analysis of local products, market demands, and labour requirements. He emphasized that the 100-day plan aims to empower locals with practical skills suited to their region.
Subsequently, instructors detailed the specific subjects to be covered in the curriculum. Departmental officials then provided necessary training aids and equipment to the participants.
A total of 20 trainees from Nakho Village are attending the course. The 15-day vocational programme will feature both theoretical and practical carpentry techniques taught by skilled instructors. The ceremony was also attended by district and township-level departmental officials and staff from relevant departments. — Cho Thar Nyunt (Rural)
