S. Korea's exports surge 43.7 pct in first 10 days of May

South Korea's exports surged in double digits in the first 10 days of May owing to soaring demand for locally-made semiconductors, customs office data showed Monday.

The outbound shipment totaled 18.43 billion U.S. dollars in the period from May 1 to 10, up 43.7 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the Korea Customs Service.

It marked an all-time high for the cited period, surpassing the previous record of 16.8 billion dollars set in 2024.
