Shwe Kokko Crackdown: 3 More Four-Storey Scam Hubs Smashed
THE government continues to conduct joint operations in the Shwe Kokko and the KK Park areas, where suspects commit telecom fraud and online gambling activities. The combined teams comprising security personnel and administrative bodies are involved in these operations, which include entering the areas, dismantling and removing illegal buildings, and taking further action in accordance with the law.
Of the 77 illegal buildings identified for demolition, 57 structures will be destroyed by machinery and 20 by controlled explosions.
Out of 57 buildings, three four-storey buildings used for online scams were systematically demolished using machinery yesterday, and as 21 buildings had already been demolished to date, 56 buildings remain for demolition.
The government considers the eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsibility and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myanmar, will continue its efforts in coordination not only with domestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries. — MNA/KZL
