Fire Caused by Overheated Electrical Wiring Destroys 14 Houses in Myingyan
Myingyan, June 1
A fire caused by overheated electrical wiring broke out in Ward No. 12 of Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, at 12:52 a.m. today, destroying 14 houses.
According to reports, the fire started when electrical wires running from the meter box to the main switch at the house of U Soe Thar overheated and ignited. The flames then spread to a nearby wall and quickly engulfed surrounding houses.
District Fire Chief U Aung Thet Hlaing, Township Fire Chief U Aung Ko Thant, auxiliary firefighters, members of the Red Cross, social welfare organizations, and local residents responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze.
U Soe Thar has been charged at Myingyan Myoma Police Station for negligence in connection with the fire.— Chit Oo Nwe (Myingyan)
