Officials Inspect Tedim Schools on First Day of Classes

Basic Education schools in Tedim Township, Chin State, reopened on June 1 for the 2026–2027 academic year, in line with schools across the country.

Officials, including Dr. Than Soe, Chairman of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee in Chin State, Deputy Minister for the state Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Colonel Khin Maung Htwe, Deputy Chairman of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee in the state, the Minister for the State Security and Border Affairs, Secretary of Chin State Government U Kyaw Zaw Lin, and Deputy Director General of the Department of Basic Education U Toe Win, visited No. 1 Basic Education High School in Tedim this morning. During the visit, they inspected teaching and learning activities and distributed government-provided textbooks, notebooks, stationery, and school uniforms to students.

For the new academic year, the Township Education Office received 7,825 school uniforms, 12,457 dozen notebooks, 3,472 dozen stationery items, and textbooks provided by the Government. As of June 1, student enrollment in Tedim District stood at 12,163, including 10,457 students in Tedim Township and 1,706 in Tonzan Township.— District (IPRD)
