Online scam hubs demolished in Shwe Kokko
THE government continues to conduct
joint operations in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, where suspects commit
telecom fraud and online gambling activities. The combined teams comprising
security personnel and administrative bodies are involved in these operations,
which include entering the areas, dismantling and removing illegal buildings,
and taking further action in accordance with the law. One four-storey building
and two three-storey buildings were demolished systematically yesterday.
Of the 77 illegal buildings identified
for demolition, 57 structures will be destroyed by machinery and 20 by
controlled explosions.
Three more structures — one four-storey
and two three-storey buildings — were demolished yesterday as part of a
57-building machinery teardown project. With 24 structures previously
levelled, 30 buildings still await demolition.
The government considers the
eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsibility
and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myanmar, will
continue its efforts in coordination not only with domestic forces but also
