The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation issued a warning for cotton farmers and cotton seed sellers to comply with regulations.
Only high-yielding quality F1 hybrid cotton seeds must be distributed. The F2 seeds obtained from harvesting F1 crops must not be distributed. Farmers are also advised not to use F2 hybrid seeds for replanting, and awareness efforts have been carried out among cotton farmers. F2 hybrid seeds will not yield some crops, and the Seed Law 2015 also prohibits the sale of seeds that are not registered. Thus, cottonseed sellers and farmers are advised not to distribute, sell, or use F2 hybrid seeds for cultivation. — NN/KK
