Sagaing Region Government Holds Rainy Season Bamboo Planting Ceremony



Monywa, July 13

The Sagaing Region Government held the 2026 rainy season bamboo planting ceremony at the compound of No. 75 Saw Mill Factory of the Myanmar Timber Enterprise in Obo Taung Ward, Monywa, this morning.

Ministers for Security and Border Affairs, Economic Affairs, Social Affairs, Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, and Minister of Municipal Affairs, together with regional, district and township officials and invited guests, planted 4,000 bamboo saplings during the ceremony.

In addition, the Region Forest Department planted 6,300 bamboo saplings in Monywa, Shwebo, Khamti, Homalin, Kanbalu, Kalay and Mawlaik townships, bringing the total number of bamboo saplings planted across Sagaing Region to 10,300.— Region IPRD
