Three Houses Damaged by Heavy Rain and Strong Winds in Thapaung Township

Three houses were damaged by heavy rain and strong winds that struck Khaenan Village Tract and Zee Phyu Kwin Village Tract in Thapaung Township, Pathein District, Ayeyarwady Region, at around 6 p.m. on July 29.

In Nyaung Kwin Village, Khaenan Village Tract, the homes of Daw Aye Than and U Thaung Oo were damaged after trees toppled onto the buildings during the storm. Another house, owned by U Ngahpa in Kwunthiyan Village, Zee Phyu Kwin Village Tract, also collapsed as a result of the severe weather. But No injuries or fatalities among people or livestock were reported.

Local authorities, together with village administrative teams, are assisting the affected families by helping them to relocate temporarily to the homes of their relatives.— Thein Myint Myo Oo (IPRD)
