31 suspects arrested in Muse for telecom fraud, online gambling

ACTING on tip-offs, au­thorities searched a house on the bypass road in the Hona area of Kaunghmu­ton Ward, Muse Township, at around 10:15 am yes­terday.

During the raid, secu­rity forces apprehended 31 individuals engaged in online fraud and gam­bling, including 18 Chi­nese male nationals, five Myanmar male nation­als, and eight Myanmar female nationals.

Officials seized 422 smartphones of various models, 18 all-in-one computers, 20 desktop computers and related accessories, two Starlink satellite internet devices, two Wi-Fi routers, 24,500 Chinese yuan, one Lex­us motor vehicle, two Crown motor vehicles, and three motorcycles of various models. Nec­essary investigations are currently underway, and strict legal action will be taken against the sus­pects in accordance with existing laws, while the seized operational equip­ment will be processed in accordance with official procedures. — MNA/TH
