Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker receives UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim

AMYOTHA Hluttaw Speak­er U Aung Lin Dwe re­ceived UN Resident Coor­dinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim Ms Gwyn Lewis at the Amyo­tha Hluttaw meeting room in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

They discussed coop­eration between the Amyo­tha Hluttaw and the UN in accordance with existing laws and procedures to ensure the effective de­livery of humanitarian assistance to the people. They also discussed pros­pects for achieving positive outcomes for the people through constructive coop­eration with UN agencies, as well as ways to strength­en mutual understanding and cooperation.

Amyotha Hluttaw Dep­uty Speaker Jeng Phang Naw Taung, representa­tives from the UN Resi­dent Coordinator’s Office in Yangon and officials from the Amyotha Hluttaw Office also attended the meeting. — MNA/KTZH
