Continuous Rainfall Causes water to flow over the main spillway in Ngape Township

Due to continuous rainfall in Ngape Township, Minbu District, Magway Region, the water level at the Mann Creek Reservoir has reached 626.6 feet, exceeding 1.6 feet above the spillway according to measurements taken by the Ngape Township Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management at 6:00 AM on 11 August.

As the water level in the dam has exceeded the full supply level and is flowing over the spillway, an Emergency Preparedness Level (1) has been declared to inform the public within the township and green flags have been hoisted at the dam's spillway and relevant areas. In addition, authorities are also issuing real-time warnings and updates to the public, assuring that there is no cause for concern regarding the dam's condition.

            In Ngape Township, continuous rainfall since the first week of July has led to a steady inflow of stream and rainwater into the reservoirs. The Mann Dam has begun releasing water over its spillway, exceeding 1.6 ft over its spillway. Responsible officials are constantly monitoring the water flow over the Mann Dam, and all dam structures and associated facilities remain sturdy and in good condition. A 24-hour water-level monitoring duty has been assigned to ensure continuous observation of the situation.
