Hpa-an Livestock Zone develops 106 plots on 137.46 acres carrying out livestock activities
AS the Hpa-an Livestock Zone was established in 2021 and operated in 2022, a total of 106 plots covering 137.46 acres are being developed for livestock activities.
On 15 August, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo met livestock farmers at the meeting room of the Hpa-an Livestock Zone. Officials from the zone committee and livestock farmers discussed challenges facing livestock activities and measures to address them.
After the meeting, the chief minister visited various farms of pig, goat, domestic poultry and dairy cow breeding farms in the Hpa-an Livestock Zone. Aw Zar Min Natural Fertilizer Plant, which produces natural fertilizer from animal waste and other waste products is being operated in the livestock zone.
Similarly, the chief minister visited a four-acre monsoon paddy (RS-CS) seed-production model field belonging to farmer U Shwe Myar in Kawthinshu Village, Hpa-an Township, where pest infestations had occurred. He inspected the application of Vitagro 50 CE water-soluble insecticide using a sprayer and provided bottles of the insecticide to farmers for use in affected fields.
Similarly, he inspected monsoon paddy cultivation at Plot 1187 in Naungkhayaing Village, Hpa-an Township, and coordinated with farmers on their fuel requirements. — Saw Myo Min Thein (IPRD)/MKKS
