Inter-State/Region Sepak Takraw Championships continue
THE 2026 Inter-State and Region Sepak Takraw Championships are being held at Gymnasium A of Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw from 24 August to 2 September.
The final group-stage matches and quarterfinals of the men’s and women’s doubles events were held on 25 August.
In the men’s event, Nay Pyi Taw, Taninthayi, Kayin, Sagaing, Mon, Magway and Yangon won their respective final group-stage matches. In the quarterfinals, Nay Pyi Taw defeated Mandalay 2-1, Sagaing beat Bago 2-1, Mon overcame Shan 2-1, and Rakhine defeated Yangon 2-1.
In the women’s event, Nay Pyi Taw, Mon, Rakhine, Magway and Taninthayi secured wins in their final group-stage matches. In the quarterfinals, Mon defeated Yangon 2-0, Ayeyawady beat Kayin 2-0, Magway overcame Mandalay 2-0, and Rakhine defeated Taninthayi 2-1.
The semifinals, third-place play-offs and finals of the men’s and women’s events will be held on 26 August. Sports fans are welcome to attend the matches free of charge. — MNA/KZL
