Yangon to host Club Lethwei Championships

THE Yangon Region Gov­ernment Men’s and Wom­en’s Club Boxing Champi­onships will be held from 25 to 28 August at the Padetha Lethwei Training Hall, ac­cording to the Yangon Re­gion Boxing Subcommittee.

The bouts will begin at 1 pm each day during the four-day competition. A medical and eligibility check for participating ath­letes, as well as a meeting for competition officials, was held at the Padetha Lethwei Training Hall from 7 am to noon on 24 August. However, the match-ups for the men’s and women’s events have not yet been announced.

The Yangon Region Traditional Lethwei Sub­committee regularly or­ganizes competitions to promote the development of traditional Myanmar boxing in the region and provide young boxers with oppor­tunities to gain competitive experience. — TWA/KZL
