MDY to host Traditional Myanmar Food Competition and Expo
A Traditional Myanmar Food Competition and Exhibition will be held at the Mandalay Convention Centre in Mandalay on 22 and 23 August, according to a press conference held at Hotel Hazel on 12 August.
The event is to be organized by the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture and implemented by the Myanmar Restaurant Association under the theme “Tastes of the Golden Land 2026 Mandalay”. It aims to promote the development of the tourism industry.
A total of 135 exhibition booths will be featured, showcasing traditional Myanmar cuisine as well as ethnic traditional foods.
Local restaurants and hotels will take part in the competition and exhibition, while various zones of the Myanmar Restaurant Association will prepare and serve traditional dishes to visitors.
Awards will be presented for categories including Best Taste, Most Creative Dish and Best Chef. Daw Phyu Phyu Tin, a judge from the Master Chef competition, will serve as a judge for the event. — TWA/MKKS
