Mon State wins men’s and women’s gold in Doubles Sepak Takraw events
MON State won gold medals in both the men’s and women’s doubles team events at the 2026 Inter-Region and State Sepak Takraw Championships being held at Sports Hall A of Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw.
The championships are jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports, and the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation to develop new-generation athletes and raise the standard of Sepak Takraw.
In the men’s event, Mon State beat Nay Pyi Taw 2-1 in the final, while Sagaing Region defeated Rakhine State 2-0 to take third place. In the women’s event, Mon State beat Magway Region 2-0 in the final, while Rakhine State defeated Ayeyawady Region 2-0 for third place.
The men’s regu event and the women’s regu round-robin matches will continue from 9 am today. — MNA/KZL
