Nawnghkio opens vocational carpentry course



THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Nawnghkio Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State (North), held the opening ceremony of a free vocational carpentry training course for the 2026- 2027 financial year at the township department office yesterday.


Pyithu Hluttaw Rep­resentative U Kyaw Myint Naing delivered opening remarks. Kyaukme Dis­trict Department of Rural Development Head Daw Nan Phyu Phyu Aung then emphasized the importance of selecting vocational skills suitable for local conditions and applying the acquired knowledge to create em­ployment opportunities. Course instructors de­tailed the carpentry skills and techniques to be taught before officials distributed necessary training materi­als to the participants.


The opening ceremony was attended by Hluttaw representatives, district and township departmen­tal officials, village-tract administrators and 20 trainees from Nawngaw Village. During the 15-day free course, skilled instruc­tors will provide theoreti­cal and practical training in carpentry techniques to help create employment opportunities for rural res­idents. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
