Ngape Township Plants Over 1,900 Acres of Cotton

Ngape Township in Magway Region has planted 1,903 acres of cotton out of the 2,262 acres targeted for cultivation this rainy season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

The planned acreage includes 160 acres of early-monsoon long-staple cotton and 2,102 acres of late-monsoon long-staple cotton across 15 village tracts in the township. Planting began in June, and the cultivated fields are growing well.

The Township Agriculture Department is providing seeds and agricultural inputs to farmers, promoting improved cultivation methods and crop yields, and providing training on cotton farming and the systematic use of pesticides and other inputs.—Ma Yu (Ngape)
