Pyidaungsu/Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker signs condolence book on demise of Laos National Assembly President Mr Xaysomphone Phomvihane
PYIDAUNGSU Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw
Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the
Union of Myanmar, visited the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
in Myanmar in Dagon Township, Yangon, at 2 pm yesterday to sign the condolence
book following the death of Lao National Assembly President Mr Xaysomphone
Phomvihane on 8 August.
At the embassy, U Aung Lin Dwe met the
Lao Ambassador and embassy officials in the guest room and conveyed the condolences
and sympathies of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar over
the passing of Mr Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
Mr Xaysomphone Phomvihane served as
President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
during its ninth term from March 2021 to December 2025. He was re-elected for
the 10th term in March
2026 and served until his death at the age of 70. — MNA/ MKKS
