Residents in low-lying areas of Hpa-an relocated due to the rise of Thanlwin River

          The water level of Thanlwin River reached 820 centimeters, exceeding its danger mark of 750 centimeters according to the observation of 8:30 am. As a result, water from the river entered low-lying areas in Hpa-an, Kayin State.

          Arrangements are being made to open temporary rescue camps for those who have been relocated from the flooded areas and authorities prepared to provide basic foodstuffs such as rice, edible oil and eggs.  

The District and Township Natural Disaster Management Committees have planned to open a total of 16 rescue camps in the wards and 11 camps in the village-of the town.
