Taunggyi holds public awareness talk in Pantpon Model Village
THE Department of Rural Development staged a public awareness talk at Pantpon Model Village in Taunggyi Township on 7 August.
Deputy Director of Shan State (South) Department of Rural Development U Khun Myint Thaung delivered opening remarks.
Officials gave lectures on reducing smoke and haze, proper waste management, environmental and indoor air pollution, and related health risks and preventive measures, dengue fever and malaria prevention, including water container sanitation and larvicide application, environmental protection, traffic safety regulations, licensing and the risks of unlicensed vehicles, fire prevention techniques, oil-fire handling and extinguisher maintenance.
During the event, officials distributed informational pamphlets on fire prevention and environmental conservation to 165 local elders and residents in attendance.— Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
