Vietnamese Ambassador calls on MoIP Union Minister

UNION Minister for Im­migration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Nguyen Anh Duc and his delega­tion at the Union Minister’s reception room in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

They cordially dis­cussed cooperation in immigration matters be­tween the two countries as ASEAN member states. They also discussed the mutual granting of entry visas and residence per­mits, the repatriation of Vietnamese nationals who illegally entered Myanmar and were arrested, in ac­cordance with the terms of bilateral friendship, and Vietnamese nationals pros­ecuted and sentenced in online fraud cases. They also stressed the need for Vietnamese nationals to enter Myanmar legally and be informed about the con­sequences of illegal entry.

Deputy Minister U Lin Zaw Tun, the permanent secretary and officials also attended the meeting. — MNA/MKKS
