MFF to expand regional training centre programme to 8 centres
THE Myanmar Football Federation (MFF), in cooperation with FIFA, will expand its FIFA/MFF Regional Training Centre programme to eight centres to develop talented young footballers.
The programme was launched last year in Mawlamyine, Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin State, Mandalay Region, Taunggyi and Ayeyawady Region. Bago and Hpa-an will be added this year.
Selection trials are currently being held for boys and girls under the age of 14, with selected players to receive systematic training at the respective regional centres.
Most of the selected players have already been announced. The selection processes for boys in Mandalay and girls in Kachin and Mon are still ongoing, with the final lists to be released upon completion, according to the MFF. — TWA/KZL
