Over 33,000 acres of monsoon paddy successfully cultivated in Kyunhla Township

            Kyunhla Township in Kantbalu District, Sagaing Region cultivates monsoon paddy that is well suited to the local climate. This monsoon season, over 33,000 acres of paddy have been successfully cultivated in the township, according to the township agriculture department.

            The department has set a target of 35,696 acres of monsoon paddy for this season and so far 33,263 acres have been cultivated. “A total of three acres of Ayar Min paddy variety have been planted seed production. The Agriculture Department supports technical assistance for the use of systematic agricultural practices. The first ploughing is being carried out”, according to U Min Naing, a farmer from Tatkon village.

            To achieve the target yields per acre, departmental officials are conducting agricultural awareness campaigns on selecting high-quality seeds, adopting systematic agricultural methods and utilizing a balanced mixture of natural and chemical fertilizers.
