Pindaya’s MSY village project loans disbursed
THE Department of Rural Development,
under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, held a ceremony to
disburse revolving funds under the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project in
Kantha Village, Pindaya Township, Danu Self-Administered Zone, Shan State
(South), yesterday.
Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Win Zaw
delivered opening remarks. Danu Self-Administered Zone Department of Rural
Development Head Daw Aye Aye Thein explained the objectives and benefits of the
MSY Village Project, while Pindaya Township Department of Rural Development
Head U Aung Kyaw explained project fund disbursement procedures.
Kantha Village is implementing family income-generating
activities using K30 million from the MSY Village Project. Under the
supervision of regional and township department officials, members of the
project implementation groups disbursed the first round of revolving loans at
low interest rates directly to a total of 60 members from the village,
including 34 people engaged in agricultural activities receiving K17.3
million, 18 in livestock breeding receiving K8.6 million and eight in trading
businesses receiving K4.1 million. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
