Seven Pairs Advance to Myanma Lethwei Golden Belt Championship Final
THE semifinals of the Myanma Lethwei Golden Belt Championship 2026 in various weight classes were held yesterday at Theinbyu Gymnasium in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon.
The tournament, also known as the Royal-D Golden Belt Championship 2026, is organized by Sai Zaw Zaw Group under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation.
In the 51-kilogramme class, Salai Thang Kwi Shein (Kyar Ma Naing) defeated Si Thu Phyo (Doh Yoeya) in the third round, while Gaw Ba Ka (Yoeya Swan Ah) defeated Aung Ko Oo (YKB Club) in the first round.
In the 54-kilogramme class, Aung Tun Bo (Doh Yoeya) defeated Ko Ko (Cement Factory) by knockout in the third round, while Mya Lone Chaw (Shwe Let Thee) defeated Nai Aung Shin (Khay Yu Wah) in the fourth round.
In the 57-kilogramme class, Kyaw Wai Tun (Top One) defeated Aung Kaung (Cement Factory) in the third round, while Africa (555 Sports) defeated Aung Htet Oo (Doh Yoeya) on points.
In the 60-kilogramme class, Si Toe (Khay Yu Wah) defeated Aung Zaw Myo (Cement Factory) in the third round, while Thant Zin (Tawwin Ayeya) defeated Dawna Hein (Warriors) in the second round.
In the 63.5-kilogramme class, Htoo Kanyaw (YKB) defeated Kyaw Zin Tun (Warriors) on points, while Ye Lin Oo (Vanguard) defeated Ba Soe Wunna (Zar Htet-Meiktila) on points.
In the 67-kilogramme class, Apho Thway (Khay Yu Wah) defeated Tun Naing Oo (STL) in the second round, while Kanyaw Khwar (Cement Factory) defeated Shin Htet (Zar Htet-Meiktila) on points.
The final bouts will be held at 1 pm on 20 September, according to the organizers. — Bala/KZL
