Tanai’s MSY village project loans disbursed



THE Department of Ru­ral Development, under the Ministry of Cooper­atives and Rural Devel­opment, held a ceremo­ny to disburse revolving funds under the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Vil­lage Project in Lamun Village, Tanai Township, Kachin State, yesterday.

 

Tanai Township Department of Rural Development Head U Zaw Myo explained the project objectives: the project aims to increase family incomes, allow­ing residents to expand small-scale agricultural, livestock breeding and livelihood activities, and will carry out village development activities using increased revolv­ing funds. Project staff detailed applicable inter­est rates, loan periods, and rules and regula­tions to be followed, and K55.5 million in revolving funds was transferred to members of the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Implementation Com­mittees.

 

Lamun Village is implementing local in­come-generating activ­ities with support from the project funds. Under the supervision of the township department, members of the village project implementation committees disbursed ninth-round conces­sional revolving loans totalling K55.5 million at low interest rates to 31 project members from the village, including seven people engaged in systematic agricultural activities receiving K16.5 million and 24 in livestock breeding receiving K39 million. —Karan (Rural)
