Cash Assistance Donated to Flood Victims in Thayetchaung Township
Thayetchaung, October 8
Flooding occurred in Thayetchaung Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region, due to heavy rainfall, which coincided with runoff from mountainous areas and high tide during the full-moon period. The floodwaters have now receded.
To assist flood-affected residents in carrying out rehabilitation activities, cash donations jointly provided by the Tanintharyi Region Government, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, and donors were distributed to flood-affected people from Maw Shee Kone Ward this morning at Thayetchaung Basic Education High School.
During the donation ceremony, Police Major Khin Maung Lwin, Acting Chairman of the Thayetchaung Township Management and Administration Committee, and committee members provided K2,760 per household to flood-affected residents from Maw Shee Kone Ward.
