MRF warns rice traders to ensure price stability and avoid irregular trading practices
ON 3 October, the Myanmar Rice
Federation (MRF) issued a public statement urging rice traders to strictly comply
with regulations set by the State and relevant organizations, including those
prohibiting transactions through multiple layers of rice brokerage channels
inside or outside designated rice wholesale centres and irregular trading practices
intended to drive up prices.
The federation also issued four mandatory
guidelines for rice traders to ensure the stability of Myanmar Pawsan rice
prices and promote increased export volumes. The statement stipulates that
rice traders operating within wholesale centres must systematically maintain
records of incoming and outgoing rice in the prescribed format and submit them
daily to the respective wholesale centres.
Furthermore, member rice traders across
Myanmar are urged to register their warehouses on the Myanmar Rice Online
(MyRo) registration system and update their rice inventory volumes in a
timely manner in accordance with the established rules and regulations.
The MRF also reminded all rice traders
to fully cooperate with and comply with rice pricing guidelines and regulations
issued by the relevant departments and organizations. — TWA/TH
