Myanmar delegation attends INNOPROM Belarus industrial exhibition in Minsk
AT the invitation of Belarusian
Minister of Industry Mr Andrei Kuznetsov, a Myanmar delegation led by Union
Minister for National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U
Aung Kyaw Hoe and Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie
Than attended the second international industrial exhibition (INNOPROM. Belarus),
held in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, from 30 September to 2 October.
During his stay in Minsk, Union Minister
U Aung Kyaw Hoe met Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Belarus and Co-Chairman of the Myanmar-Belarus Joint Commission on
Trade and Economic Cooperation on the morning of 30 September. They discussed
holding the third meeting of the Joint Committee in Myanmar, implementing the
roadmap, and promoting bilateral trade and investment. Meanwhile, Union Minister
Dr Charlie Than held separate talks with Belarusian Minister of Industry Mr
Andrei Kuznetsov on opportunities for bilateral cooperation in promoting
industrial production, technology exchange, and the development of Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
In the afternoon, the Myanmar
delegation, led by the Union ministers, met Ms Nadezhda Lazarevich,
Chairperson of the Belarusian state-owned light industry concern “Bellegprom”,
to discuss detailed coordination on promoting investment and trade in small and
medium-sized industries between the two countries. The delegation then toured
the exhibition booths at the second international industrial exhibition.
On 1 October, the Union ministers
attended business programmes and plenary sessions of the second international
industrial exhibition (INNOPROM. Belarus) and visited Minsk Techno Park, where
officials briefed them on the facility’s operations.
On 2 October, the Myanmar delegation,
led by the Union ministers, observed automated machinery manufacturing and
assembly processes at the Minsk Automatic Lines Plant and toured the high-tech
metal manufacturing processes and technological applications at the Minsk
Plant of Technological Metal Structures. They also discussed bilateral
cooperation and investment opportunities before returning to Myanmar yesterday
